MV”ARION” SHIP DESCRIPTION
M/V Arion was constructed in 1965 at Pula, in Croatia, as “Istra” and the ship was completely
renovated in 2000.A traditional English breakfast is served in the dining room or, weather permitting, in the Lido lounge, where during lunch you can enjoy some fresh pasta, light salads, international cuisine or healthy choice that reflects modern tastes; afternoon tea, delicious finger sandwiches and warm scones with Devon-clotted cream and jam and a wide selection of teas. Dinner is a culinary experience. Menus are established by our Master Chefs who are members of the most famous culinary associations like “Les Toques Blanches Internationales”.
There are promenade lounges, including a winter garden for relaxation, cocktail bar, and intimate piano bar. Evening entertainment with musicians, dancers and singers. A doctor is available on board but cannot prescribe medicines. Casual and simple attire are recommended. For the Captain’s and Farewell Dinner we suggest more formal attire. All services on board are charged in Euro. All expenses (except for the excursions) can be charged to your shipboard account.Excursions are offered at every port of call and can be booked on board. A daily programme is prepared every evening for the next day and delivered to passenger cabins. Tipping: the tips amount to 40€ per cruise per passenger and must be prepaid when booking the cruise.

KOPER (Slovenia)

Very near to Trieste in Italy is located the small renaissance city of Koper (Capo d’Istria) which is today the most important port of Slovenia. Start of the cruise.

ZADAR (Croatia)

Once a dominant city on the Adriatic coast and rival of Venice, Zadar is now an historical treasure preserving in its historical core the remains of the Roman Forum, the Church of St. Donat, the Romanesque Cathedral of St Anastasia, the Church of St. Mary and the Benedictine Convent.
The city owns a permanent collection of church art known as “The Gold and Silver of Zadar”.

PLOCE (optional tour to Mostar – Bosnia) and KORCULA (Croatia)

Ploce is a commercial port located in central Dalmatia. From Ploce, take an optional tour to the famous old city of Mostar (Bosnia Herzegovina) where you will see the reconstructed “old bridge” built by the occupying Turkish forces 500 years ago. The historical town of Korcula is known as the birthplace of Marco Polo. The town will fascinate you with its beautiful historical centre, narrow stone streets, museums and churches. Korcula is a town of a long-cherished cultural heritage and one of the most visited destinations on the Adriatic coast. It is also famous for its exciting traditional dances “Moreska” and “Kumpanija”.

KOTOR (Montenegro)

Sail in the morning through extraordinary Kotor bay to Montenegro where you will be struck by the magnificence of its unique fjord in the Mediterranean, the stunning “Boka Kotorska”. Despite all misfortunes, Kotor has preserved the atmosphere of the medieval Mediterranean town. The town is encircled with 20m high walls that begin at the harbour, i.e. at the South gate, and end at the River Skurla – West Gate. They both end at the fort of Saint Ivan. The Fort rises above the town and reaches a height of over 250m. There are 1426 stairs leading to the Tower.

DURRES (Tirana) Albania

Arrive in the morning at Durres port, the most important maritime port in Albania also well known for its nice riviera. You will have a chance to participate in our full day city tour of Tirana including lunch in a typical local restaurant.

Day 6 : Friday:
DUBROVNIK (Croatia)

The former “Ragusa” is a town which resembles an open-air museum. The city said to be the most beautiful Croatian city. Once a famous Dubrovnik Republic, the city was a powerful rival of Venice in the fight over sea rule. Today it still continues to rival Venice with its beauty and charming atmosphere. The Franciscan and the Dominican Monastery, The Cathedral, the Rector’s Palace, Stradun, grand City walls and St. Blaise’s Church are impressive buildings that deserve attention.

Day 7 : Saturday:
SPLIT (Croatia)

Split, the second largest city in Croatia and “the capital of Dalmatia” gradually developed around the palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian, built more than 1700 years ago. From Diocletian’s cellars, Cathedral of the Temple of Jupiter to the Golden Gate (Porta aurea), across the Peristyle and the Market (Pjaca) to the sunny sea promenade (Riva) and further up the Marmont street, past the fish-market and all the way to the Theatre: a morning in Split will fill you with the atmosphere of a typical Mediterranean city.

KOPER (Slovenia)

Arrival in Koper in the morning to rediscover this charming renaissance city.

Former Montenegro capital Cetinje:
Guided tour Transfer by bus to Cetinje the former capital of Montenegro at the end of XIX century.

Budva (Riviera of Montenegro):
Guided tour Visit of the small town of Budva, a former Greek colony, built at the foot of a hill and surrounded by stone walls.
Visit of the Museum and time at leisure (possibility of swimming). Price 45 €

Montenegro’s Grand Tour:
Guided tour - departure in the morning to explore the medieval city of Budva. Short stop at the former fishing village of Sveti Stefan. Enjoy sailing on famous Skadar Lake and have a lunch in a typical fishermen restaurant. On your way back to Kotor, you will have a splendid panoramic view on the Fjord of Kotor.
