The island of Mljet is one of the most beautiful islands on the Adriatic Coast with two amazing salt-water lakes, peaceful bays and small fisherman villages. In 1960 the western part of the island was proclaimed a national park.
Take a pathway through the thick pine forest leading to the Small Lake and the Great Lake to enjoy the air full of fragrances of the Mediterranean vegetation. Boat ride over the Great Lake to the islet of St Mary for a visit to the magnificent Benedictine Abbey founded in the 12th century by Apulia Benedictines. This secluded abbey was a dwelling place to a number of prominent Benedictine writers and scientists. Take time at leisure to swim in the pristine waters of the lakes or stroll around.

Discover Ston with its 5-kilometre long walls, a city built in the 15th century according to a plan with a rectangular scheme of streets and squares. Ston is renowned for its delicious oysters and mussels that you will taste in one of the local restaurants. We continue to the Arboretum in Trsteno with a 15th century summer residence of the Dubrovnik patrician family Gucetić-Gozze surrounded by a beautiful Renaissance garden.

The Neretva River Delta is a vast marshland abundant in flora and fauna sheltering
more than 300 species, 115 of which nest in the area. It is an important European resting ad wintering place for migratory birds.
We drive first to Vid to visit the remains of the Roman Narona, an important trade and military centre of the Province of Dalmatia. Touring of the Forum and Archeological museum built at the site of the Temple of Augustus exhibiting beautiful mosaic and sixteen monumental sculptures of Roman emperors, dignitaries and deities. We embark a wooden boat “trupica” and cruise the marsh canals enjoying the beauty of the delta landscape. Lunch at a typical restaurant on the marsh island followed by sail to the mainland.

Having experienced different historical development over the centuries this area has remained the meeting place of cultures and religions with traces clearly visible today. Drive to Neum along the coast, then inlands through the picturesque Neretva River Delta up to Mostar. During the Turkish rule, the city developed on the banks of the river as an important trade centre on caravan routes.
We tour the old city of Mostar included in 2005 on the UNESCO`s World Heritage List, with its graceful Old Bridge with a single span, colourful Bazaar with traditional handicrafts, Mosque and a typical Turkish house. Your kayaking adventure takes us from Pile area near the fortress of Lovrijenac along the magnificent city walls offering unique views of Dubrovnik from the sea. We paddle to the island of Lokrum, a nature reserve with Benedictine Abbey visiting the caves on its open sea side. We proceed all around the island to Bettina Cave with a nice pebble beach. Take a break for refreshment, time for swimming and snorkelling. We paddle back passing the Old City harbour and the fortress of St John.
