Triglav National Park & Bohinj
Trekking package

Lake Bohinj,

The point where we start our trek is formed by the Triglav glacier itself. Starting at 2750m the glacier works its way underground to the point where the first of the Triglav valley lakes appear. The lakes then disappear only to re-appear again a few hundred metres down the valley. Seven Triglav Lakes Valley is considered to be one of the most interesting in Europe not only for its natural beauty but also for its unique formations. The limestone mountains give each of the lakes their own identity, each lake being different in colour due to the minerals picked up on its journey underground from lake to lake - Zeleno Jezero (Green Lake), Mlaka Jezero (Milk Lake) and Crno Jezero (Black Lake). Black Lake is the first one we encounter as we arrive from our journey up from Bohinj Lake. Two more days are spent exploring this valley of lakes and the high mountain pastures - famous for its cheese and schnapps.

We hike on gradual pathways so we can absorb the flora and fauna of the National Park, sample the cheese and of course the beauty of Seven Triglav Lakes Valley. The abundance of trails give you many trekking options to explore as you wish. Each morning the guide will discuss the options for that day. The first day we start at Lake Bohinj and head for Domna Komna visiting the waterfall, Slap Savica, on route. On reaching Domna Komna we leave our rucksacks and explore the area visiting Black Lake and the historical area above Komna. Seven Triglav Lakes is an easy trek, especially suitable for those who have never trekked hut to hut before as well as families and people interested in alpine fauna and flora!

The Seven Triglav Lakes Valley trekking:

High mountain pastures, abundant wildlife, waterfalls, rare mountain flowers and spectacular glacier lakes can all be seen on this 3 day trek as we pass through the amazing Triglav National Park on easy, gradual and undemanding mountain trails.

Boat excursion on the Bohinj lake:

Two boats take visitors on a relaxing cruise from one corner of Bohinj lake to the other. One boat carries a maximum of 53 passengers, the other one, Zlatorog, carries up to 75 passengers. The cruise takes half an hour to cross the lake in one direction. During the ride, a guide gives interesting facts about Bohinj.

High ropes course:

The High Ropes Course is an obstacle course built on wooden pillars high above the ground. Under the supervision of experienced and professionally trained High Ropes Course trainers, participants have the chance to experience a totally new and extraordinary challenge. Anybody can join the High Ropes Course. Children 11 years and over and taller than 150 cms are welcome. The High Ropes Course is perfect for staff training, motivation seminars and team building. All participants must complete all exercises in pairs so it encourages team cohesiveness and improves interaction. The High Ropes Course enhances your sense of balance and co-ordination. After completing the exercises, self-confidence rises tremendously because participants overcome any inner fears about heights.

Mini rafting:

Take an interesting challenge with Avantura rafts designed for two or three people so the participants steer the raft by themselves. A guide paddles by their side in a kayak and shows them the way. The level of difficulty of the river (I – IV) is ideal for this kind of rafting. An exciting trip for anyone who enjoys the natural wonders of the river and the challenge of conquering the rapids in stable rafts.

Triglav National Park - Bohinj
Mountains, rivers and lakes, forests, and mountain pastures and meadows are interwoven with a rich cultural heritage. Due to the beauty of the landscape in Bohinj and its precious natural heritage, a good part of the Bohinj regions has been incorporated in the territory of Triglav National Park, Slovenia?s only national park. The park reached its present size in 1981, includes practically all of the Julian Alps that lie in Slovenia, and covers 83,807 hectares. The highest point in the park is the peak of Mount Triglav (2,864 m), from which the park takes its name, and the lowest point is in the Tolminska Chutes (180 m). In Bohinj, we are increasingly aware of the advantages and significance of Triglav National Park for the development of environmentally friendly forms of tourism and recreation. It is therefore appropriate to warn visitors that they are entering a very sensitive world of natural ecosystems where they must be particularly considerate of nature.

Bohinj is a valley that stretches from Soteska to Ukanc. On the south side, it is enclosed by the Lower Bohinj Mountains, which rise to 2.000 meters, and on the north by the Triglav mountain range with Mount Triglav, Slovenia`s highest mountain (2864 m).
Bohinj is divided into the Upper and Lower Bohinj valley. There are twenty-four villages in these two valleys. Bohinj is one of the most beautiful places in the heart of the Julian Alps and in Triglav National Park.
The natural beauty of high mountains, green forests, and beautiful mountain pastures and meadows, the cultural and historical monuments, and the friendly villages and towns with their hotels, restaurants, inns, and private rooms guarantee visitors a pleasant stay in Bohinj.
Bohinj is an ideal starting point for day trips, for walks on the trails that run throughout the valley, and for mountaineering and climbing tours and offers ideal options and opportunities for rest and relaxation in all seasons. In winter the valley becomes a winter sports center, while during the summer the most beautiful pearl of the valley, Lake Bohinj, invites bathers, and with the Sava Bohinjka River, kayakers and fishermen as well.
Welcome to Bohinj, where we hope you will spend unforgettable moments with us and enjoy our offer.
