The cave is accessible without special equipment, and has a constant temperature of 10 degrees Celsius. Visitors are taken for a tour by a special cave train, accompanied by experienced guides. A visit takes an hour and a half.
For centuries bandits and robber barons hid themselves in the immense forests. Just a few kilometres from Postojna, if you follow the signposts, you can marvel at one of the oldest and most picturesque of these robber’s strongholds—Predjama Castle. The castle perches on a vertical cliff 123 metres high; behind it is an extensive system of underground passageways with various hidden exits and a supply of running water.
