It transports you to some of the most stunning parts of Slovenia far away from the crowds and civilisation and revealing the last pearls of unspoilt nature.



August and September are good for hiking in the Slovenian mountains. However, due to the heat, August weather can be quite unstable (especially in the mountains) with some thunderstorms. September is calmer and the weather at that time is generally fine and stable.

DAY 1:
ARRIVAL, BOHINJ

After arrival in Slovenia transfer to your hote in Bohinj. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Bohinj.

DAY 2:
BOHINJ

Full day in Bohinj – hike to beautiful Savica waterfall, see the deep gorge of Mostnica river, take the cable car ride to Mt. Vogel and enjoy spectacular view of Bohinj valley and surrounding mountains. Possibilities for adrenaline sports: paragliding, canyoning, zorbing. Overnight in Bohinj.

DAY 3:
BOHINJ - KREDARICA

Transfer to Pokljuka plateau, the starting point for climbing Mt. Triglav. Hike through pine forests and green pastures to our destination – a mountain of sheer rock. Overnight in Kredarca mountain hut, a few hundred metres below the top of the mountain. Walking time: approx. 6 hours. Level of difficulty: moderate.

DAY 4:
KREDARICA – TRIGLAV – TRIGLAV LAKES

Wake up call at 3am! Be on top of Mt. Triglav to see the first rays of the sun and to enjoy the spectacular view and unspoilt nature! After a short rest, start your descent down to the most beautiful valley in the Slovene Alps – Triglav Lakes Valley, formed by the remains of Triglav Glacier. Enjoy the seven lakes, which are at the core of the Triglav National Park since 1924 when the park was established. Overnight in a mountain hut located on the greatest and most beautiful of the lakes. Walking time: approx. 8 hours Level of difficulty: demanding

DAY 5:
TRIGLAV LAKES – KOMNA – KRN LAKES

Continue your journey down Triglav Lakes Valley to the plateau of Komna, directly above Bohinj Lake. Take a rest with a great view of the lake, then continue to Bogatin, the legendary place of the Goldenhorn (a myth recreating the creation of the Slovenian Alps). Hike further to the mountain hut at Krn Lake and learn about the history of World War 1 along the way. Here, under cover of the mountains and close to the greatest battle fronts in Europe (more than 1 million casualties along the Soca river front) were numerous strongholds and fortifications, nowadays all are in the ruins and you free to visit. Overnight in the mountain hut. Walking time: approx. 8 hours Level of difficulty: moderate

DAY 6:
KRN LAKES – KOBARID - BOVEC

Early wake up call and short descent to the valley of Lepena, part of Soca Valley where you will see the remains of World War 1 – old forts, bunkers, military roads and the world famous WW1 museum in Kobarid. Possibilities of adrenaline sports: canyoning, rafting. Drive to Bovec, accomodation in hotel and overnight.

DAY 7:
BOVEC – VRSIC PASS – KRANJSKA GORA

Drive up the Soca Valley to Vrsic Pass – the road built by war prisoners during WW1. Enjoy the picturesque surroundings. From the Pass there is a short descent to Kranjska Gora. Continue further to Planica - see the highest ski jump in the world! Planica is world famous with its annual World Cup and has the world record in ski jumps. It is located at the entrance to Tamar valley, the most beautiful (second to the Triglav Lakes Valley) valley in Slovenia, which is popular for its green pastures and spectacular mountains. Spend the afternoon and your last evening at leisure enoying this wonderful alpine ambience. Walking time: approx. 4 hours Level of dufficulty: easy

DAY 8:
DEPARTURE

Depending on time of your flight, morning at leisure until your transfer to the airport.
