Wedding in Bled

Natural beauty makes Bled Castle an ideal place for wedding. The lake, the castle, the boats, the island and the beautiful surroundings – these are the unique ingredients for very romantic spot to marry on the castle. Slovenia’s oldest castle perches at the top of a steep cliff above Lake Bled. The residence now houses a restaurant and a museum with exhibits that illustrate the historical development of the area around Lake Bled from the Bronze Age to the present. If you would like to get married in the church on Santa Maria Island you can have only a church ceremony.

Wedding in Predjama Castle

You will arrive at the entrance to Predjama Castle in a horse drawn carriage where you will be greeted by your guests. Waiting for you with your guests will be the host Erazem of Predjama and his Lady; Two knights in armour; Two guards with Halberds; Castle staff in costume; The Lady’s maid and local towns people also in costume. Everyone is now invited into the flower decorated castle where the string trio is playing and costumed staff disposed around the room. An old custom may be included where the bride cuts off a small lock of the grooms hair and weaves it into a wedding ribbon on a loom. The wedding ribbon is a symbol of the permanent presence of the husband, even when he is away.
