Growth of youth tourism in
Slovenia |
By joining the European Union, Slovenia also gained in the field of youth tourism. The latest figures indicate that the number of young travellers who visited Slovenia in the second half of the year increased by three times, with the majority of them spending their time in Ljubljana. Speaking of this, we should mention that the young people who visited Slovenia this year praised the Celica youth hostel as one of the most beautifully arranged hostels of its kind in Europe.
Slovenia is an excellent place for sport and recreation; active holidays are possible in all parts of the country during all seasons. In the winter time visitors are attracted by wonderful ski slopes, in summer by the waters and the sky above Slovenia, in spring and autumn by the colourful hiking and cycling trails… Slovenian ski centers and winter resorts attract Alpine and tour skiers, cross-country skiers, borders, sledgers. Many schools of skiing will introduce you to winter joys which can also be experienced by air and at some places – by paragliding.

The Celica is famous for its unique character, where former prison cells have been transformed into hotel rooms and each room is uniquely exhibits the work of Slovene and foreign artists. That youth tourism has a future in Slovenia is evident in the fact that more new hostels are opening and there is an increasing offer of private accommodations for young tourists. |
